In 2003, Ian was instrumental in spearheading the feasibility of a manufacturing facility in South Africa and has successfully reared Flowcrete SA as Managing Director to the company it is today, a leader in specialist flooring.
Equipped with a BSc Honours Degree in polymer chemistry and a diploma in marketing, he has utilised his theoretical skills to innovate and develop flooring technology. Ian has been intimate with the evolving market and flooring trends which have enabled him to develop a number of leading products within the Flowcrete range.
With over 15 years of experience in the chemical industry, Ian provides unparalleled service to his customers, by demonstrating his understanding of the local conditions and trouble-shooting technical challenges. He also believes in leading by example and adding value to his customers by keeping them abreast of worldwide trends and developments within the industry.
Spurred on by the vast potential of the African continent, he has motivated his team to achieve fantastic performance with revenue and profit growing year on year. Licensed applicators have been developed in all neighbouring countries and an official distribution office in Zambia was established in 2006 to harness the potential of this growing economy.
Ian has been pivotal to the quantum leap that Flowcrete SA has taken, starting off with a mere ten employees in 2004, the company now employs over seventy today. The acquisition of Ivory Industrials (Pty) Ltd in 2006 has been a successful merger of intellectual capabilities and brand power, which has provided the basis for increased market share in the Southern African region. Flowcrete SA has grown beyond all expectations as a direct consequence of the passion for success demonstrated by Ian and his team.
