Following on from a project for UMW Toyota at its Batu Pahat Service Centre in Malaysia, Flowcrete set to work on a similar installation at the new UMW Toyota Automotive Service Centre on the outskirts of the capital in Kuala Lumpur.
UMW Toyota is engaged in the assembly, distribution and retailing of Toyota motor vehicles, both passenger and commercial. The company includes three subsidiaries, one of which accounts for the largest motor assembly plant throughout the whole of Malaysia.
Flowcrete’s seamless polyurethane resin flooring system Flowfresh was selected for the facility as results of its high durability, abrasion resistance and exceptional chemical resistance, enabling the final floor to withstand the harsh environment of the automotive workshop.
Prior to the installation of the Flowfresh system, at a thickness of 2mm, the entire facility was given an application of Flowcem, a damp-proof membrane that creates a watertight moisture barrier on the surface of the floor. Installed in one seamless application, Flowfresh offers an easy to clean surface with high levels of slip resistance to create a safe working environment.
The 3,000 m² area was completed with the installation Flowseal UV to protect the Flowfresh finish from discolouring caused by exposure to natural sunlight.
