Aker Kvaerner

A state-of-the-art subsea oil and gas production facility, constructed in Malaysia by global engineering giant Aker Kvaerner, now has performance flooring to match the high-tech manufacturing work carried out at the site following the installation of Flowcrete materials.

The facility’s Subsea Tree Assembly and Testing Area required a heavy-duty, durable and easy to maintain floor finish that would be capable of withstanding the high degrees of chemical and mechanical impact witnessed frequently at the site. 

Flowcrete provided an epoxy mortar system as a suitable floor treatment prior to the installation of its heavy-duty Flowcoat TL across the area, which covered a total surface area of close to 4,500m².

Flowcoat TL is a high performance, hard-wearing, slip resistant, seamless floor finish recommended for use in hardened manufacturing environments. As a high build epoxy resin coating, Flowcoat TL also offers the added benefit of excellent chemical resistance.

Work at the site also included the installation of Flowcem and Flowcoat in the facility’s Workshop Area over a surface area of some 3,000m².
