Flowcrete has been involved in a major flooring project in conjunction with British American Tobacco, the world’s largest and most influential tobacco group distributing quality products to over 180 markets across the globe.
The project at BAT’s Polish site in Augustów, involved the installation of a seamless resin flooring system in a new production and printing hall covering a total surface area of close to 6,000m² – and all whilst daily operations continued on site. .
A key requirement of the new floor was that it had to be able to withstand heavy mechanical loads as well as being chemical resistant and easily cleaned. It also had to be able to provide an anti-slip profile in production and printing areas. Moreover the system needed to comply with European Union requirements HACCP and the clients own requirements regarding hygiene.
Flowcrete’s Peran STB, an epoxy resin system, installed at 4mm in an attractive beige colour was selected for the main production area. Owing to the heavy-duty filler – a combination of quartz aggregates and sand – Peran STB is able to withstand mechanical impact and loads. For the printing hall, which is spread across two levels, Peran STB Compact was used at a thickness of 3mm in a welcoming soft grey colour.
Peran STB combines strong and colourful aesthetics with excellent wear and slip resistance as well as good hygiene properties. The joint-free finish of Peran STB eliminates the cracks and crevices known to harbour dirt and dust ensuring helping to keep BAT’s Polish facility clean and safe.
