The new Wembley Stadium, located in the London Borough of Brent is the most expensive stadium that has ever been built at a cost of £798 Million (roughly US$1.57 billion).
With 90,000 seats Wembley stadium has the second largest seating capacity in Europe. Owing to its impressive architectural standing, Wembley Stadium has recently been awarded with a RIBA National Award to celebrate its contribution to the urban regeneration of the Wembley area alongside British national pride and culture.
Flowcrete provided the complete Floorzone solution for the national stadium which included a range of self-smoothing sub floor screeds and damp proof membranes to line concourse areas, public walkways, washrooms, concession areas and VIP back of house areas.
Flowcrete’s Isocrete range of floor screeds was chosen on account of their proven performance in the construction industry. Flowcrete’s waterproof decking system Deckshield has also been applied to all internal and external stair nosings in attractive shade of yellow.
For internal concourse areas and back of house kitchen areas a range of decorative resin floor finishes were chosen to impress visitors to the landmark site. These surfaces are capable of meeting the demands of any world-class sporting environment, they offer an anti-slip profile to protect staff and visitors underfoot and are easy to clean and maintain.
