A Fresh Approach to Flooring at WOC
Flowcrete Group Ltd will be demonstrating the hygienic power of silver when it showcases its awardwinning,joint-free polyurethane flooring system, Flowfresh at the 2011 World of Concrete show in LasVegas, NV.
Targeted at the global food & drink sector, Flowfresh has been designed purposely to exceed industry guidelines for good health and safety practices – using a powerful silver-based antimicrobial additive, Polygiene®, to combat bacterial growth at ground-level.
The science is based on a natural amino compound, which is locked into the matrix of the polyurethane resin material. This compound emits a constant stream of silver ions that destroy bacteria that settles on the surface of the floor.
Unlike other chemically manufactured additives or surface treatments this process remains active for the lifetime of the floor – even when worn or damaged – offering round-the-clock protection against harmful bugs including E-coli, MRSA, Salmonella, SARS and C.difficile.
Where durability, chemical resistance and cleanability count, Flowfresh adds up too. Available in a variety of thicknesses and with specifications for areas ranging between light to heavy-duty tolerance, Flowfresh caters for all food manufacturing, processing and packaging environments.
Flowfresh is geared up to offer resistance to the most stubborn of foodstuff by-products and ingredients including fats and hot oils as well as corrosive sugar solutions and acids. The system is also suitable for steam and hot water cleaning processes and is resistant to a wide variety of chemical cleaning agents.
The material has been proven to meet a wide-range of service, application and aesthetic conditions and has been used in significant projects around the globe for international clients including Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nestlé, Heineken and Diageo.
