Five-Star Finish For World’s First BMW M Showroom
The world’s first BMW M showroom has been given a five-star finish to match the vehicles on display with a seamless flooring system from Flowcrete.
Munich Automobiles of Singapore was selected by the German automaker as the first dedicated distributor in the world to market the top of the range BMW M cars and M accessories.
The project to convert an existing building into a world-class showroom was the responsibility of leading interior design company Kingsmen Exhibits of Singapore.
Based on its international track record and technical recommendations made during the design stage, Flowcrete was selected to carry out the flooring work.
A seamless, self-levelling epoxy resin system known as Flowshield SL was chosen as the final floor finish for its ability to create the right environment for the luxury marque.
Working to a very tight timeframe, considerable remedial work was required to prepare the floor slab for installation of the Flowshield. With the site being located next to a reservoir and consequent high water table, a damp-proof membrane was installed first to prevent damage from possible rising moisture.
Flowcrete’s self-levelling, cement-based K-Screed system was then installed to provide a smooth, high strength substrate. The rapid curing and drying times of K-Screed were a key advantage in keeping the project on schedule.
