Flowcrete Staff’s Paws-On Approach To Bear Project
Staff at leading industrial and commercial resin flooring manufacturer Flowcrete UK are putting their hands to the Bearmania Project in Congleton.
Each person at the company – which started out in business in the town nearly 30 years ago and has grown to become the leader in the UK resin flooring marketplace – is represented on their own bespoke bear by a pawmark on the model.
Named ‘Paws For Floors,’ the Flowcrete bear will take up residence in the town off Mountbatten Way, near to the library car park.
Staff members Rebekah Gear, Alice Maynard and Marc Bird took a lead in painting the bear at Flowcrete’s headquarters, which are now based in Sandbach,
Using products sourced from within the RPM Performance Coatings Group, of which the company is a member, Flowcrete decorated its bear in the company’s corporate colours, red, white and silver-grey.
Ian Jones, Flowcrete’s Marketing Manager, said: “Many staff at Flowcrete are from Congleton and this is where the company has its roots, so we felt it was really important to get involved in the project.”

The project, which will see more than 70 five-foot bear models descend on the town, has been designed to attract tourists and visitors to the historic Cheshire town.
Flowcrete’s long-standing relationship with Congleton is far-ranging and includes links to Congleton Rugby Club, which is sponsored by the company and for whom Flowcrete’s MD Mark Greaves resides as President.
