Flowcrete has provided a complete corrosion protection system that has the ability to withstand extremes of temperature and chemical concentrations, coupled with mechanical impact, to replace the existing acid bricks and lining systems used previously at BP Chemicals’ Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant in Belgium.
These existing systems were failing, mainly due to shrinkage and impact damage and chemical penetration damage to the structures.
ATB-300® GL & ATB-300® Honeycomb was installed to refurbish BP’s existing tanks within the plant. The full range of ATB-300® shrink free vinyl ester systems have been selected for PTA plants across the globe since initial trials by BP Chemicals commenced more that 20 years ago in Belgium at Geel.
As well as the ATB-300® Honeycomb system, the range of specialist corrosion resistant products includes floor screeds and renders, waste water treatment coatings and bund-lining systems. The systems can be applied on both steel and concrete structures.
