Flowcrete has sealed an industry accolade for its pioneering work at a landmark London building, which used seven of its products on site. In partnership with an approved contractor Flowcrete fought off strong competition from across the country to win the Project of the Year category at the annual awards organised by the Resin Flooring Association, FeRFA.
The accolade was awarded for work at the O2 Arena in London, a contract which involved the design, supply and installation of 55,000 square metres of Flowcrete flooring throughout the prestigious venue. At the start of the project, Flowcrete’s time-proven Isocrete K-Screed was laid, providing a strong platform for the development.
The work also involved extensive use of Flowcrete’s Industrial Top, Renovation screed, Flowfast, the ultra-fast curing resin, as well as the hard-wearing epoxy resin coating Flowcoat SF41.The hard-wearing and ultra-fast installation Peran STB was then used throughout the concourse area. Strong and slip-resistant, this decorative quartz system is the ideal choice for stadia and arenas, where large floor areas need to be rapidly covered as part of stringent construction programmes.
The installation project included the development of creative space with Peran STB, introduced through the use of multi-coloured stripes as a design feature to break up large expanses of floor surface. Peran SL was also used on site.
