Flowcrete’s luxurious seamless terrazzo system, Mondéco, has been used in a creative blend of seven coordinating colours to create an eye-catching result at ground-level for the new Times Square Center development in Dubai.
With plenty of retail outlets selling products ranging from home & lifestyle right through to electrical equipment and haute couture fashion, the center offers the complete shopping experience. The Time Square Center is even home to the ‘Chill Out Ice Bar’ – an innovative eatery where customers can sit on chairs and eat from plates made of ice.
The new Times Square Center building, located on Dubai’s bustling Sheikh Zayed Road, represents a completely new retailing concept for the Middle East. The mall’s conceptual architects, IR Design, wanted a decorative floor finish that would serve as the centrepiece of this community-oriented shopping mall.
Flowcrete’s flexible seamless terrazzo system, Mondéco was selected in a palette of attractive colours to create a stunning centrepiece at ground floor level. Mondéco is a flexible system that was able to comply with the highly complex pattern, completed using detailed aluminium inlays, which had been drawn up especially for the project.
The hardwearing, scratch resistant Mondéco stands up well to the high levels of pedestrian traffic expected to come through the shopping mall each day. The seamless epoxy resin terrazzo system also delivers an easily cleaned, joint-free, low maintenance surface ensuring that the floor continues to look its best underfoot.
